Recognizing the ongoing efforts of hospitals and health systems fighting COVID-19 in their communities while also providing care for other patient needs, the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) has cancelled its Exchange 2020 Annual Conference and Solutions Center, scheduled for August 2-5 in Chicago, and all AHE Exchange related events. During this unprecedented time, we support Illinois and Chicago’s phased reopening which does not allow large events. We also recognize and understand that hospital and health system leaders must remain onsite.
We look forward to resuming the AHE Exchange Conference in 2021 and hope to see you there!
As the recognized authority in health care environmental services, and as a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association, the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) has developed two eLearning certificate programs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alternative Education and Engagement Opportunities
- The Pathways to Clean certificate program
- The Ready. Set. Clean. certificate program in response to an outpouring of inquiries from the hospitality industry looking for the resources necessary to educate and train their frontline staff to achieve hygienically clean and safe guest spaces that contribute to combating COVID-19, and that reaffirm customer confidence.
The Pathways to Clean certificate program and the Ready. Set. Clean. certificate program both include webinars, presentations and checklists related to COVID-19, infection prevention strategies, cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, emerging pathogens, and preparedness for biological events. Facilities that complete the programs’ trainings will earn a certificate of completion and gain access to the communications toolkit to make their accomplishment known, affirm their commitment to hospital caliber clean, and assure guests that their facility is hygienically clean and safe.
The AHE Exchange Conference and Solution Center convenes health care professionals from multiple disciplines to collect tools, build and enhance skills and share the lessons necessary to optimize environmental services as a critical programmatic response to infection prevention and environmental hygiene; as well as to quality outcomes and patient or resident experience. Exchange programming offers a robust schedule including: preconference workshops, meaningful networking opportunities, high level learning labs, inspiring general session speakers, and interactive solution center.
