Eligibility Requirements
An AHE Trainer status remains active for three (3) years after completing the initial Train-The-Trainer (T3) program.
To renew or continue the active trainer status, the trainers must:
Every three (3) years complete the following two (2) steps:
- Conducted at least two (2) AHE program training sessions at your facility (dates of training are required on the form),
- Became a designated trainer at one of the AHE Train-the-Trainer Programs within a three-year period,
- Attended the AHE Bootcamp for Trainers: AHE Program Trainer Eligibility Renewal program and obtained additional continuing education credits (CECs). The training details must be listed on the renewal form.
- T-CHEST: eleven (11) additional CECs (eight (8) hours of professional training specific to EVS and three (3) in a general course facilitating/training).
- T-CSCT: nine (8) additional CECs (six (6) hours of professional training specific to EVS and three (2) in a general course facilitating/training).
- T-CNACC: five (5) additional CECs (three (3) hours of professional training specific to EVS and two (2) in a general course facilitating/training) within 3 years.
- Did not attend Bootcamp for Trainers: AHE Program Trainer Eligibility Renewal program, but obtained continuing education credits (CECs). The training details must be listed on the renewal form.
- T-CHEST: Total of eighteen (18) CECs (twelve (12) hours of professional training specific to EVS and six (6) hours in a general course facilitating/ training).
- T-CSCT: Total of sixteen (15) CECs (ten (10) hours of professional training specific to EVS and five (5) hours in a general course facilitating/ training).
- T-CNACC: Total of twelve (12) CECs (eight (8) hours of professional training specific to EVS and four (4) hours in a general course facilitating/ training).

If you hold multiple trainer designations (T-CHEST, T-CSST, and T-CNACC), you can combine credit hours to meet your active trainer eligibility requirements. You need only to attend one (1) Bootcamp for Trainers program. Credit Hours: AHE EXCHANGE credits can be counted towards the active trainer eligibility credit hours. Certificates of attendance/completion are necessary to prove that credit hours were obtained and must be submitted during check-in. If you don’t have a certificate of completion, detailed information about the education must be provided. All credit hours are subject to AHA approval. The AHE will update the Code of Ethics, but you do not need to send us a new copy until your next eligibility renewal. Please note that only active trainers are eligible to purchase the Participant Guides for the AHE Signature Programs and proctor the exams. If you have a designated purchasing personnel, please contact AHE staff at ahe@aha.org to make special arrangements. All purchases must be prepaid using a company credit card or a check. Purchase orders are not accepted as a guarantee to ship the product or provide an invoice.

AHE Strategic Leadership programs and AHE EXCHANGE Summit credits can be counted towards the active Trainer eligibility CECs. Certificates of recognition are required to verify that education credits were earned and must be submitted at check-in. If you don’t have a certificate of recognition, you must provide detailed information about your education. All CECs are subject to AHA approval.

The content of the Code of Ethics Guide is subject to change. Always look for the most recent versions of the Code of Ethics online at ahe.org. When the AHE updates the Code of Ethics, active Trainers do not need to send a new copy until their next eligibility renewal.
Violating the terms and/or standards outlined in this Code of Ethics Guide will result in the deactivation or revocation of the AHE Program Trainer status.
