Press Release: The Association for the Health Care Environment Announces Elected and Appointed 2019 Board Members

Chicago, October 16, 2018 – The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) has announced newly elected to At Large Board Members for the 2019-2021 term are:

Marci Butts, BHA, MBA, CHESP

Director of Environmental Services at UC Health West Chester campus in southwestern Ohio. She has been involved in environmental sciences and support services for over ten years. Marci has served on a variety of hospital committees including: environment of care, infection control, process improvement, United Way, planning & construction, and regulatory readiness. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Marci brings with her a love of leadership and a passion for seeing the lightbulb go off when a frontline employee makes the connection for how their work impacts the big picture.

Marci has been involved in and chaired AHE committees including Advisory Committee, Planning Committee, Nomination Committee, and Awards and Recognition Committee. Marci is excited to take this next step in involvement with AHE.

Scott Thornton, CHESP

Director of Operations for Professional Contract Services, Inc. (PSCI), an Ability One non-profit, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining PCSI, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in Applied Sociology, held two contract environmental services positions and ran an in-house ES program for St. David’s Medical Center. He received his CHESP in 2013,
T-CHEST and CMIP in 2016, T-CSCT in 2017, and acted as a subject matter expert on the Strategic Leadership Series: Value-base Product Evaluation & Implementation Program (VPEI). He participated in the 2018 AHE Strategic Planning Conference and served as an AHE 2018 Conference Planning Committee member.

Scott has served on multiple committees including the Education and Knowledge Committee and Industry Advisory Task Force. Scott lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and two young children; he enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
