Chicago, October 7, 2016 – The Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE), of the American Hospital Association, has announced the recipients of the 2015 Recognition Awards for excellence in caring for the environment, volunteer service, mentorship and environmental sustainability.

Phoenix Award sponsored by AF&S Products & Services, Inc.: The highest honor bestowed upon an AHE member, the Phoenix Award was presented to Fiona Nemetz, MS, CHESP, Director of EVS, Safety and Security Northside Hospital, for her unparalleled service and contributions to the advancement of AHE, for exceptional leadership and for demonstration of quality and excellence in the profession.

Heart of Healthcare Sponsored by Kimberly Clark Professional: Jean Williams, Fairfield Medical Center Lancaster, Ohio was awarded the Heart of Healthcare Award.

James Wolfbrandt Award: Weston Thiss, PCSI Austin, TX was awarded the James Wolfbrandt Award

Environmental Services Department of the Year Sponsored by SCA:
The Environmental Services (ES) Department of the Year Award provides national recognition for the significant contributions made by an environmental services department to overall patient experience and achieving a health care organization's mission. This year recipients were:
