The CHESP certification program offered through the American Hospital Association’s Certification Center provides environmental services professionals with a sound assessment of their expert knowledge in managing the environment of care. Potential CHESP candidates include environmental services leaders, infection prevention professionals, facility professionals, and industry suppliers and consultants. The CHESP exam covers seven key content domains of the environmental services competency: regulatory compliance; planning, design, and construction; operations related to environmental sanitation; operations related to waste management; operations related to textile management; financial stewardship; and administration. Review sessions are available in person at the AHE Exchange annual conference and online throughout the year.
