CSCT Certification Renewal Process
Surgical cleaning technicians who have earned their CSCT must submit a renewal form every three (3) years along with a renewal application form. You can confirm your expiration date by reviewing the Current List of CSCT Certificants.
Option One: Continuing Education
Indicate on the Renewal Application Form if you have completed 15 hours of continuing education (including relevant in-service classes) within the past three (3) years. For this renewal cycle only, you do not have to submit a list of your continuing education classes.
Option Two: Successful CSCT Re-examination
Renewal by this option requires re-taking and passing the CSCT Examination no more than one (1) year prior to certification expiration date.
You should first complete a Renewal Application Form and submit it to AHE, along with your payment. After the application is processed, AHE will notify your facility of the test request and they will get in touch with you to schedule the test.
Part 1 of this how-to series will show you how to set up a test date and guide test-takers to complete the participant form.
AHE's Smartsheet System
Part 2 of this how-to series demonstrates how to use AHE's Smartsheet system to retrieve test codes and redeem your test.
All 3 links can be found in the email you received from CSCT@ahe.org
You must complete your test request form 7 business days prior to your exam.
We recommend you do this on the first day of your class, although it must be done at least 5 days prior to the exam date.
Participants will not show up on your facility's Smartsheet until after they complete the participant form.
After completing the participant form, participants will receive 2 emails. Please be sure to read both carefully and follow the prompts to register their account. These steps are required before a participant can log in.
Test codes are uploaded to your facility's Smartsheet 2 days prior to your test date.
Test codes are case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as they appear on the Smartsheet. Also, test codes can only be used one time. If someone is re-testing, a test request form and participant form must be completed again.
Email us at CSCT@ahe.org. Please note: certificates may take 3-5 weeks after your test completion to arrive.
