Although ancillary to a hospital’s core mission of healing, improving, and saving lives, the management of hospital waste streams has an undeniable impact on both the day-to-day operation of the facilities, and on longer-term matters like budgeting and sustainability. This document briefly examines the current state of the industry, and considers the identification and implementation of improved waste management practices.
