AHE Presents 2018 Phoenix Award

CHICAGO, September 25, 2018 - The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), of the American Hospital Association, has announced the recipient of the 2018 Phoenix Award.

Started in 1987, the Phoenix Award is the highest honor bestowed upon an AHE member. The Phoenix Award recognizes a professional who has made an unselfish, lasting impact as well as outstanding contributions to the growth and professionalism of AHE, the membership, and to environmental services.

Phoenix Award winners are selected by the AHE Board.

This year’s recipient of the 2018 Phoenix Award is James (Jim) Henry, CHESP, MCHEST. Jim began his career in health care environmental services management over 20 years ago. In 2013, he joined with Vanguard Resources Inc. and now serves as Regional Director. Jim oversees the operations of 4 Directors of Environmental Services and supports the Environmental Services operations of 7 hospitals in the Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma region.

Jim also serves on the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) committee that developed the Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification program. He is also a Master Trainer for the program.
